Farewell.

Have you ever experienced saying goodbye to people you love? People you care about and have shared a big part of your life to? It's true when people say that the people in our lives won't always be there. But does that mean you would never shed a tear?

Katelyn woke up. She opened her eyes and blinked a few times. The sun's bright rays stung her eyes. Katelyn heard her sisters voices downstairs. She turned the AC off and went downstairs to know what the commotion was all about.

She started going down the stairs, about 4 more steps until she clearly heard her sister say "Kaye, what are we going to do? Rose left. With a man!" Kalley the eldest sibling asked Kaye. Katelyn couldn't believe what she heard and reflexively sat down. Kaye saw her and stared at her, with her eyes almost popping out. Surprised. Worried. Probably worried for the reasont hat she didn't know how to tell Katelyn the entire situation without hurting her feelings and making her cry. Maybe that's what they were most worried of. But they never expected Katelyn would JUST hear their conversation.

Katelyn thought how this day started. Just like any other day. She couldn't believe that the seemingly perfect morning could end up with a tragic news. What was wrong? Why did Rose leave her? After all those years she's took care of her. What made her suddenly leave? Katelyn remained seated at the staircase. Tears started dripping. Kalley and Kaye together ran to her and comforted her.

"Why?" Katelyn asked. Her two sisters looked at each other. They obviously had no explaination for this.

Katelyn remembered the times she spent with Rose. She has been like a family. A second mother. It's like all the times she took care of Katelyn went to her mind like flashbacks. The time Katelyn got lost in the mall. The crabs she usually brings back for Katelyn. The time she cut her finger with the knife, accidentally. The time she dressed up for her first day in Summer Classes. Everything. She would never experience. Rose was gone. She wouldn't go back to Katelyn even if she asks her to.

Katelyn cried and cried. For weeks she stayed that way. She couldn't give her final farewell to Rose.
